With your support on Election Day, you made me a new voice on the Atlanta Public School Board.

Thank you.

Thank you for your prayers, your kind words of encouragement and your financial support. Because of you, our kids have won a great victory. It is with great humility and an even greater sense of responsibility that I accept the public’s trust.  

Every day I enter the classroom with the highest of expectations for my students.  It is this same drive and passion I take to serve every child in Atlanta Public Schools. Over the next four years I will need your help on the long journey to create a system in which all children have the opportunity to receive an excellent education. Together, we will build upon the success of the past and work relentlessly to design:

• Classrooms in which all children are learning on grade level and all children learn to their full potential

• A system not plagued by the achievement gap, but one that recruits, rewards and retains the best educators to serve our kids 

• An APS that values the opinions of all stakeholders and a system that produces graduates ready to compete with students from all around the world

I realize these are bold expectations and that these ambitions will not be realized without hard work and a steadfast pursuit of results. It is to this end result that I pledge all of my energy. Our kids deserve nothing less.

As a product of and current teacher in APS, I have witnessed first-hand how far we have come and know all too well how far we must go. Today is the day we take bold steps to give our kids the education they deserve. Today marks a new day in Atlanta. Today marks a new day for our communities and most importantly our kids.
